Eligibility Criteria:
  • Experienced family or domestic violence, including victims of false allegations
  • Contactable by Centrelink social workers for assessment
  • Eligible for or receiving an income support payment or ABSTUDY Living Allowance
  • In one of the required living arrangements
  • Currently in Australia
  • Experiencing severe financial hardship
Living Arrangements: You may be eligible if you’ve:
  • Left your home for safety reasons
  • Stayed in your home after the perpetrator has left or been removed
  • Been removed from your home by police and legally prevented from returning
How to Apply:
Contact Centrelink within 7 days of your living arrangements changing. You can begin a claim online, call Centrelink, or visit a service center. After contacting Centrelink, submit your claim within 14 days.
