A young barista ‘from a good family’ has been charged with the murder of a cyclist whose body was found in bushland.

Samantha Grace Guillerme, 24, was arrested on Tuesday morning and charged with murdering eastern Victorian man Jarrad Lovison in Moondarra, about 125km east of Melbourne, on April 16.

Mr Lovison, from Newborough near Moe in Victoria’s Latrobe’s Valley, disappeared in suspicious circumstances that day.

The dog lover’s body was found on May 23 in bushland in Moondarra.

Guillerme was arrested after detectives searched a property on Coalville Rd, Moe  – where a white Toyota was seized as part of the ongoing police investigation.

A day after the disappearance, Guillerme shared a photo on Instagram of her dog at the Lyrebird Forest Walk about 60km to the south of Moondarra.

Alongside the photo, she wrote the caption ‘today’s adventure’.

The young woman’s Facebook page says she worked at a cafe called Eat Live Fresh in Trafalgar.

Her Instagram bio meanwhile reads ‘work hard, dream big, invest in yourself’.

She was remanded to return to court on January 7.

Mr Lovison’s friend Adam Reddiex said the arrest was ‘a long time coming’.

‘I feel hopeful we can finally get to the bottom of it,’ the friend told the Herald Sun.
