EVIDENCE-BASED DOMESTIC VIOLENCE TREATMENT
CONTINUING EDUCATION TRAININGS FOR PROFESSIONALS

Dear Mental Health Professional/Domestic Violence Treatment Provider:

Domestic violence, also known as intimate partner abuse, is a serious social and mental health problem, often misunderstood and difficult to diagnose and treat.  Research indicates that between 36% and 58% of couples in outpatient treatment have experienced  an assault by one or both partner in the past year.  Accordingly, I would like to share with you, from 30 years of research and clinical experience, some important resources for evidence-based practice.  Should you find these useful, please share them with your colleagues:

FREE RESEARCH:

The 2,657-page Partner Abuse State of Knowledge Project  is the world’s most comprehensive, reliable and up-to-date database of domestic violence research, available online for free at: www.domesticviolenceresearch.org.

DISCOUNTED PROFESSIONAL TRAINING:   www.domesticviolencetrainings.org

These 4 and 8-hour online courses are based on the latest, most reliable social science research and cover a variety of important topics related to the characteristics, causes, consequences, assessment and treatment of relationship abuse.  CEUs are available to LCSWs, MFTs, and Licensed Professional Counselors.
