The 58-year-old woman was charged on Tuesday with two counts of attempted murder and one count of arson in relation to the fire at a house at Morayfield, north of Brisbane, in February.

It is alleged the two boys, aged nine and 11, were deliberately trapped in the fire.

The boys managed to escape, but one suffered burns to his lower limbs.

The woman allegedly also tried to kill one of the boys on two other separate occasions.

She has been charged with two further counts of attempted murder in relation to these alleged incidents.

Police are unable to confirm details of these allegations at this stage.

They will also not confirm whether the woman is a relative.

The woman has also been charged with one count of interfering with a corpse in relation to the death of a seven-month-old infant from the same family in September.

She is still assisting police with their investigations into the alleged homicide of the infant, as well as the baby’s three-year-old sibling in July 2013.

The woman will appear via telephone link in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
