The hearing, before bail justice Ken Coughlan, was told of the charges against Guode after she was interviewed by Homicide Squad detectives.

Detective Sen-Constable Dustin Sheppard confirmed she had been taken into custody and charged over the death of her three children.

Ms Guode was remanded in custody.

Asked if she had any concerns with being placed in custody, Ms Guode said through an interpreter: “I have no concerns … Since I moved to Australia, I have not get into trouble with anyone.”

She also clutched her chest and said she was having “a little bit of chest pain” but that she did not require any medication currently.

She was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
